G'day members

Another Aussie member here.
Far North Queensland
bought my C26E from my Brother inlaw in 1999, he was the Australian importer.
I'm the 2nd owner.
he rode it on our trip up the Cape in 1997, I rode my 1991 TT600, the C26E impressed me. so I bought it a few years later

had a serious issue with the extreme torque tearing the knobs off the rear tyre when riding around town, so in 2000 order the Talon motard wheels from CCM. gotta love them

the carby was always jetted wrong which can be frustrating & terrifying, just depends on what your trying to do at the time.
had a few bike shops look into the jetting, but they made it worse.
as a diesel mechanic I generally don't play with jetting, but had to sort it myself, fuel consumption went from 15km/L down to 22km/l & it actually had the factory claimed 52Hp at the rear wheel. just a pleasure to ride after that
I've rebuilt it a couple of times now, once due to bike shops pulling the barrel off when they where only suppose to sort the jetting, so I couldn't help myself & stripped the rest.
the current rebuild has been under way for quiet a few years now,
this rebuild is due to synthetic oil, gudgeon pin went walkabout

the whole engine & cases/covers etc have been in for ceramic paint, including:
piston crown
combustion chamber
valve heads
ports
exhaust system

has anyone tried this?
slowly putting it back together.

also upgraded the front disc to the CCM 320mm unit.

it'll be different to ride when I finish

regards
