Morning all, just a quick note to say thanks for the add and a few lines about my new bike.
Names Rupert and I have just bought a 664. Used to be an R30 but has been converted to the "DS" (think that's right??) Hasn't seen much action apparently, under 20,000 miles and looks to be in good nic and lovingly maintained. Not seen it in the flesh yet, picking it up in the new year but have many pics and am confident of the report. Planning to use it for green laning and strapping it to the back of my bus for when me and the wife start our European adventures in the new year. So, any advice and tips gratefully received from you experienced owners.
Happy Christmas all and hope to maybe chat and even meet one or two of you in the new year.

Hello

Your bus must be a pretty big beast if it can carry a porker of a 644 on the back. And you must be a body builder if you can load said porker onto the carrying rack on the back on the bus. Presumably your converted R30 to DS already has offroad wheels fitted ( DS has longer swing arm to take 18 inch wheel and knobbly tyre) or are you planning to fit dual sport tyres to the 17 inch rims. Sounds like you are going to a have a good 2018 though.

Wow, thanks for all the replies, especially the previous but one owner. I have had contact from the guy I am buying it from saying you'd been in touch, great to get some history on it from back then, thankyou. Yeah re the bus it's a merc 609 so plenty of weight capacity and already found a built rack with ramp on ebay, looking to collect it on the return trip when I go get the bike. Having looked at the pics again it looks like it's got handmade side panels, the ones between the tank and the rear number panels below the front of the seat. Anyone know a good source of some new, well new to me ones!! Lol. Happy new year all.

So regarding the obvious newbie side panels question having done some research looks like they never had them so that answers that question. Regarding a question I saw from another member re rear foot pegs, someone suggested Aprilla RS125 rear brackets would would work. Do the brackets from the 99 to 05 work?
