Have you knocked the kill switch over, that feeds the electric start button if off, that is if both relays are energising, one is side stand other is ignition, the ignition feeds start button via side stand relay and is fed by the 10a fuse in the middle of fuse box
If it aint sharp I can play with it

you will need a volt meter now to check things, I've given you the easy things to check, try the plug behind the headlight that goes to the start button, make sure all the pins are in place, sometimes they get pushed out and dont make a connection

what do I check next with the multimeter, can I check the relays with it, sorry if that's a dumb question?

the 4 pin plug that goes to the starter switch and kill switch, pull apart with ignition on, you should have a 12v supply on the bike side of the plug, if not check the side stand relay is working

ok i have current the bike side of the connector, what can I check next?

Interestingly one of the relays is now making a noise like a high pitched buzzing with ignition on

relays should not do that, have you taken them out and cleaned up the pins, plus squirt wd40 into the socket. I then twist the relay pins slightly to make them fit real tight

relays should just click, on or off.
If it aint sharp I can play with it

Cheapest way is look on comparison sites many weeks in advance cos rates change daily. Or the next day or same day for a good rate.
