HI all,
As a lifelong biker, and in the main, a dirt bike nut, my first recollection of the name CCM was the wonderfully sounding 4 stroke scramblers in the '70's ... I watched the rebirth with interest but at the time was more interested in the harder edge of Japanese enduro bikes. As I drift well into middle age, the attraction of fuel injected 450's with enough power to uproot a small tree clashes with my ageing body....

Enter the sidecar !!! I have fancied a long distance classic trial sidecar for a while - when I saw an advert for a CCM engined EML outfit I decided to go for it... Bought unseen, unheard and a slight omission on telling the wife, the condition for purchase was that I could have it after the Lands End trial.... On the basis that the previous owner must have confidence in it finishing (it did) and being in one piece (it was) I duly collected the CCM tripod as the previous owner headed back to west Wales....

Then the fun started.... Bringing it home, my grandkids and their parents loved it.... my wife (who once finished there Welsh 2 Day as a passenger on her first event - which says more about her attitude than the skills required) agreed we should go trial riding. Since then, we have become a local curio, we go out for gentle rides, sometimes on/off road, sometimes out for a bar snack.. but always great fun.....

I suppose my rationale for joining the forum is that these are havens for those who 'know'..... I will happily tell you all of the trials and tribulations of owning and riding an off road bike with 3 wheels and a 20 year old engine, but I may ask for advice on the finer points of the Rotax lump....

Watch this space...... Huw

Hi Huw. Sounds fun, plenty of information here, check out the files section at the top. Post a picture when you can. We mostly used to use PhotoBucket but now they want money so we are checking out the other picture hosting options.
