I have replaced my cam belt and idler n adjuster brgs. Had the bike running on the starter and even kicked it into life.
Have a few more issues. Front sprocket was loose and buggered. How many teeth should I have for front sprocket with off road wheels. What oil. My frame says Mobil 1 but not seeing this in the forum. Won't mineral cause clutch slip.
Need a rear brake switch as not working what do you guys use.
Cheers fellas I'm looking fwd to riding this beast won't be for a while yet.

I have e always run fully synthetic with no problems. The issue of clutch slippage normally occurs when people switch to mineral or visa versa.
Unless you know what was in it before it can be a minefield
keep the faith

Jonny, what gearing do you recommend for off road wheels on the gnarly technical stuff? I have a good selection of front sprockets but will be buying a new back one. I was completely overgeared recently at 16/44, so far out I don't know how far to change it.

i did 15 - 47 on the rallies in 2014 and didnt have any issues, currently running 16 - 50, which is basically the same but keeps it off my chain slipper better, thats the set up iv'e used on the MX track and the deep rutted lanes heading up to it.

personally i hate changing the front sprocket on the Rotax, that lock washer pisses me off, so if you do swap wheels, i would find the best front sprocket for both, then gear the rear as needed.

Barns - maybe 15 - 45 ish , that should give you some speed without revving the nuts off it, this is just my opinion though, everyone is different :dirtbike:

Thanks Jonny, I was going to try a 14 on the front for the road as with 40mph speed limits I'm not looking for speed. If that goes well I will get probably stick with the 44 rear and put up with the slipper wear, otherwise I will go 16/50 as the two ratios are almost identical. Might need to get a longer chain.

your slipper should be ok, i'm running an untested swingarm and chain slipper, and i had to go 50 on the rear to lift it of the bracing a bit :shy:
