hello.

I have one concerns with my CCM R30 with engine 644cc. it consumes far too much, but it works well. ( 3000/8000 good but 1500/3000 not good and irregular)

I have to make it adjust, but I would like to know:

What are the jets of origin in CCM?
What position for the needle?
Level of tank control ?

I have no lid on the airbox and I have the air filter twin air

Thank you very much

standard jetting when new was

115 main jet, 20 pilot jet and needle in the middle or second from top. with airbox lid on

What many run now is,

150 main jets, 27.5 or 30 pilot jets, needle 2nd clip from the bottom. with no air box lid.
these settings are for use with a race can, not the standard non removable baffles exhausts

set the throttle position sensor on carbs to 76% ("how to" on site somewhere)

remove the valve lift gubbins under the right carb and blank off where the hoses are removed from

Hope this is of help

You should get about 90 miles (145km) to approx 9 litres, about 50/gallon (well I do)
If it aint sharp I can play with it

Sounds very rich

What exhaust have you got fitted?

Is it a race can with baffles that can be removed?

or the standard CCM /remus with non removable baffles
If it aint sharp I can play with it

If you have the standard exhaust you will need this set up

135 main jets and 25 pilots, needle on standard setting (in the middle)

Its going to be "try it and see", you may have to refit the airbox lid, but with larger holes, 25mm

Your best bet to get the best out of your bike will be to fit a baffled race can, something like a "quill evo 2"
If it aint sharp I can play with it

1: is the choke lever fully sliding, sometimes the slider sticks open partway. it would explain the rough idle below 3000rpm

2: maybe a quiet road legal can has been refitted and the bike is jetted for a race pipe? so check the jets sizes

3: maybe the choke and main jets have been put in wrong hole, so swap round
http://forum.ccmmad.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5

4: check the exhaust valve clearance
if they are too tight the bike would want to die at low revs, then the throttle idle may have been turned up to compensate
if the valves are set the same throttle idle setting will be about 3500rpm!

good luck
