From my previous posts some of you may of noticed i am after a 404. Just spotted this on eBay, looks pretty tidy too me. What do you reckon it is worth? £1900 at the mo with reserve. Only comes with off road wheel's, but would need SM wheels also. Do they come around often or are they hard to come by? Cheers! Sam :D http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ccm-404-DS-2005-...24933768&_uhb=1 |

What a ball ache swapping wheels, if you want a Moto buy one, if you want a traily buy one of them instead, you're easy looking at another 300 sovs for wheels so factor that in too |

There was a 404 that finished today with both sets of wheels, around 10k miles, average condition (could of done with some new plastics) but went for a low price, definitely well below 2k. |

Yes! The wheels were an acquired taste I know but could easily be painted. How much did it go for in the end? I saw it with a couple hours left. |

644 or 604 ajp hubs will fit the 404, you just need to change the front bearings and centre spacer, cant remember which has a 17mm or 20mm spindle |

The 404 is a better off roader, the 644 would get stuck in ruts because of its wide engine. Its probably more tunable as well let alone more modern. |

larger engine has more flywheel effect so harder to turn lighter 404 with less flywheel effect would turn/flick quicker than a big bike revvier motor too, so it will get to peek power quickly, wheras 604/644 relies on torque/grunt when openclass MX still existed, KTM made the 380 which was as quick(er) as the CR/KX500s because it would change direction quicker in reality on the road it doesn't matter, buy what you want or can afford |
