hardly any 160 secrion tyres fit our bikes. i found out the same with the michelin pilot power . i had not used the tyre yet so i got it swapped for a 150 . my tyre on the bike now has a worn edge and its due to the chain guard being cut shorter by the previous owner . that was flopping about and worn the tyre .

is your chain adjusted correctly? if its a little slack it can nick your tyre.

i had conti road attack 2's before that looked like yours with the chain nicking and they lasted just fine for 4500 miles, but at the end of the day its what you feel comfy with.

its hard to say by looking at pics.
i know my conti's looked bloody awful and i think i was getting about 3mm deep nicks but with that said i cant sit here and tell you it'll be ok though as thats your call.

give the chain a tweek and see what the side to side movement is like .. if you think it hits the tyre too much for peace of mind then change it.

100% with johnny on this . its your call .

i was going to try the distanzia tyres on my bike once its fixed . i use the bike for work so need a trye that will last a while as ithe bike will be used 7 days a week . i used the sm wheels for going to work and swapped to trail wheels for going to the farm shooting . i also raced about the field on the bike before going home from shooting. wore my trail tyres down going to work .

i have the trelleborg army special on the rear just now. it lasted 1000's of miles on my kmx125 and used every day for going to work. just hope the ccm does not eat them lol

Thanks chaps I've decided to get a new tyre as it will play on my mind whilst I'm out
better be safe than sorry
my front is a bt21 so might go similar or try a continental tyre I've found for £99 with a similar treat pattern as the bt21 rear :arms: :arms:

Only thing is the rear 160 is a 60 and the conti is a 70 but I know it's only 10mm so might go for that :dirtbike:

if you get the conti in a 160 it WILL get nicked by the chain again, your need a 150.

the other thing i forgot to say was how old is your chain, as if its nearing the end of its life it will have alot of sideways movement.

I'm not sure how old it is but it has got a little play either side I'm going to get a new chain and sprocket set over the colder months 150 is they way to go I think and the 160 is a bit slow turning in 150 will make it a bit sharper I'm hoping ;)

it all depends on the tyre makers sizing . a goldspeed rear is 160 and it fits but look at the side of the tread , on other tyres there is a cliff like over hang then the side wall . on the maxxis goldspeed the cliff is not as pronounced .

150 dunlop mutant on my rear, always ran michelins on my bikes before but after 2000 miles in all (mostly wet! ) conditions I'm impressed with grip, feel, and wear. Alright they are'nt super sticky but the occasional controlled arse out hooning moment is the new rock'n'roll! Would recommend em to anyone.

The only 160 profile which I know 100% works on the CCM's is the Maxxis goldspeed as it's a skinny 160  , go for a 150 otherwise you are going to shred another tyre.
