Well I've decided its time to service the r30
Just tipped over 14k miles too.

There's 2 filters on Haines for the oil what's the difference?
Are there better available?

What's the best oil to use? Id like some good quality oil pref under £40 for her.

Worth changing plugs?

Any fuel filters?

Cheers

if you can afford to get them go for the brisk plugs. made my bike run better . did not need the choke at all some days where as i had to use the choke all the time with the old style plugs . not sure of the part number .

the filters , one will be a genuine one id suspect , suzuki code 16510-37450 , there is a hi flo braned one also . if you google the suzuki number you will find it may fit a few different bikes

for example
Suzuki factory replacement oil filter 16510-37450 fits S40 Boulevard, DR500, SP500, DR650S/SE, DS650, LS650 Savage, LS650, and more.

for oil i used millers oil as i got it cheaper through my work .
ZSS 10w40 Engine Oil, Semi Synthetic was the one i bought . i got it for £25 for the 5 litres

Halfords Semi Syth is fine as the old Suzy donk aint a high revin' kevin...
As for the filters HiFlo are also fine...

Take it easy undoing the three oil filter cover bolts...
Watch out for the spring boinging under a cupboard or round the back of a box in the garage - 'where the fuck has it gone!'...
and the filter dropping on the floor with an oil splat, or on ya jeans - 'fuck these were clean on!' - you know what i mean... when you remove the filter cover...
and don't go mad tightening up the 3x oil filter cover screws...

When ya re-fill only fill to half way up the site glass (with bike up right) as with spirited riding the engine tends to push a bit of oil back in to the air box if ya fill up any more...

Cheers guys,

I've ordered 2 new cr10 plugs and a genuine oil filter from haines and rear wheel bearings too.

quick note they said the AJP bearing set on the site is for the spoked wheels.

So i ordered the "high quality" 2 bearings for the rear wheel, The guy also stated the front and rear are the same?

I may check those other plugs out next service, they didnt have the iridium in stock sadly :S

Im still looking at oil options so hopefully i get it sorted soon.

day for service is Monday, I hope she likes the new additions
