Hi folks, Does anyone know if you can remove std Rotax 604 airbox without removing sub frame? cheers, Mike F. |

Dunno! Somethings (on the 644) have been achieved by removing the top or bottom sub frame mounting bolts and swinging the subframe up or dropping the subframe down... might need to remove 'zorst or other mountings etc... Rotax may be similar Maybe enough room to pull the air box back towards the engine and up - I think some of the electrics sit in the air box on te Rotax model, or this may of been a mod just to re-site some of the componenets / starter etc... |

It might be but to be honest removing the sub frame is not that hard, I replaced the air box last year and then replaced my sub frame when I bent it too. Neither took very long. The air box is a very tight fit between the tubes of the sub frame, when i bent mine the air box had to be "persuaded" out with a larger rubber mallet! |

from memory, no, it is slightly moulded , , iirc, just undo all the bolts so theyre loose, and remove the top 2, drop the subframe back and u should be able to remove it.... u will need to disconnect wires to drop subby though... why u removing it??? |

Thanks for the info folks, I'm removing it as I spotted a stainless battery box which alaws you to fit a K&N an do away with std airbox. What do you all think?? worth a go? :unsure: |
