i cant remember off the top of my head but dont think about mixing different weights to get what you want for example mixing 10w with 5w and hoping for 15w as it goes the other way .mix 10w with 5w and you get 7w . im sure thats how it works. ( not serviced mtb forks for years ) same oil in mtb forks and our forks on the ccm bikes found this on another forum Originally Posted by VStrom650 View Post Hello, Question: If you mix 10wt and 2.5wt fork oil of the same brand 50/50 what will be the result? Cheers Add the two weights and divide by two. Also keep in mind that one brand's 10wt may not be the same as anothers, but they should be close. plus you can tune the forks by using heavier oil or lighter oil than what was in there . its all trial and error really . not sure what the standard oil weight is . |

yes you can , thats what i was trying to say , when i worked in the mtb shop people would ask for 15w and if we did not have it they thought they could mix 10w and 5w to get 15w but it works the other way , you would get 7.5w if you mixed them . just trying to save you getting it wrong lol https://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu...&oe=utf-8&gl=uk |

never done my forks , never had the bike long enough (one stolen the other blew up lol) at the mtb shop we used rock oil as we were a dealer for them . i think a lot of the mx based oils have more anti foaming additives so the the oil does not froth up when used hard , not sure if that would be the same for a supermoto , you could have a look on the supermoto forum and see what they guys are using. ktm sub forum would be the best bet as its the same forks on the KTM and the ccm |

I have just had my Cagiva done as i thought it was soft. Went from 7.5w to 10w plus a little bit extra. Results are a lot stiffer I dont have adjustable forks tho and would be carefull about trying to stiffen up your forks too much its not a sports bike and having them too stiff could have a adverse effect on the bikes whole handling. Maybe renewing like for like could be the best option and then get it setup for you which is what i had done on my old r30 and it made a real difference. |

Mate mine had very little sag once it was setup for me. My mate did for me he's a mech/racer. Took him all of 2 minutes and cost me a packet of buscuits!! Best pound I have ever spent on a bike!! :D |
