On the R30 is the chain meant to be close to the edge of the rear tyre?

I have SM wheels with a 160/60/17 tyre. :(
R30 & RD250D, grunt or scream?

there's only a few 160 tyres that dont get nipped by the chain, but yes it is very close

I had the same problem when i bought my bike.
The last owner put a 160 dunlop rear tyer on
and it caught the chain the 70 mile journey home.

Ive put a 150 conti attack on and its great

My dad did ride my bike home for me (hadnt passed my test at the time) when i got it and he is 6-7 stone heavyer then me and the chain was slack

dont worry about it at all ...i used to race a yz426 and the chain would chunk about 3-4 mm out of the slicks !!! but it doesnt matter there is loads of meat left on them .
