Hi everyone, The rear plastic number plate / mudguard / bracket where the indicators bolt to ( whatever its called) on my R30 has cracked down both sides below the indicators..The bracket seems easy to get hold of but iam led to believe that the captive nuts inside the tail piece where the bottom allen bolts screw into more often turn when the bolts are undone ..Anyone had any experience of this or any solutions/ideas?....Can you get to the nuts from under the seat?
Thanks Trev.

never had a problem with those, im pretty sure they are secure within the casting of the tail piece ... are you sure they wasnt talking about the nuts holding the seat on? those little blighters have been known to turn frequently.

Mine did the same so i cut it off where it cracked and then got some thin brackets from Halfords and fitted them using the bolts under the seat and bent them into shape. :D

In car entertainment brackets only a couple of quid. Can't remember which bolts i used but they came off fine. I will look in the morning and let you know which bolts i used.

un-do the two bolts either side near the back of the seat, pull the seat backwards.

you might need to push down on the front a bit as the guide can be a little tight.

once you do get the seat off , get some T nuts Posted Image and fit them where the original ones are . they will need to be drawn in by a bolt or pressed in . i used them on my old seat

you need to drill the bolts out, this is pretty easy with normal alloy bolts, a apin in the arse if you have stainless steel though <_<

you could try and use a drill bigger than the threads and drill the top off the bolt. but i guess you would then have to try and turn the threaded part with out the captive nut spinning
