Guys, 1st post on the tech forum so pls bear with me if this is a basic Q. Can someone tell me what is the standard final drive gearing on a 644 R30, and have any of you guys upped the gearing? My wife finds the gearing too short for her laid back riding style and the engine seems easily pokey enough to carry an extra 1 or 2 teeth on the gearbox sprocket. The gearing seems perfect for blasting around the back lanes like a hooligan but that's just not her style. Any advice appreciated.

std is 15 / 43

try a 16 up front, or drop the rear by 3,

Cheapest /easiest option is change the front
If it aint sharp I can play with it

Guys, I fitted a 16T gearbox sprocket today and I'm much happier with the gearing. It's no less fun and it's a bit more long legged which will suit Wifey's ridin' style better. It's a bit easier on the eardrums at cruising speeds too. So now the gearing is finalised I can order a new chain

Thanks for the input Monty
