not any differnce between the K&N and the foam filter when both used in the airbox. i only got a K&N because the foam seemed hard to find.

ditch the lid . it will go better with out it . DONT cut a hole in the side of the airbox like some have . previous owner of my bike did and in high winds the wind rushes in the hole ( covered by a ali mesh ) and the bike runs poop. i have now used two bits of mesh with foam in the middle and still run the twin air ccm filter

remove the lid, as you have the very first race can mod. lid on with 6 25mm holes. probably 135 mains and 25 pilots.

Remove lid, fit 27.5 pilots and 150 mains, put the needle on the second from bottom clip, also assuming you have a race can fitted plus removable baffle.

remove the valve lift gubbins if fitted, and set the TPS to 76%, clean airfilter either K&N or properly oiled twin air, NO holes in airbox, just lid removed

Popping and banging is normal on shutdown,
If it aint sharp I can play with it

I got a replacement sponge filter off ccm/jumptech some time back the new one was completely different to original twin air filter, which was thicker sponge and finer pores and only one type of sponge where new one has coarser sponge incasing a finer sponge. Dualphase they call them. not far off same price as k&n though plus need cleaner and oil too and can be quite dirty job to do every 1.5 to 2moz miles :-)

get some of the newer cleaners . there is one that you put in the washing machine . to oil mine i put it in a plastic bag ,add a little oil then massage the oil in while its in the bag . solves a lot of mess problems and you can keep it in the bag until needed if you have a spare filter . has to be a ziploc bag
