sorry no pics, but info if your swinger bearings are loose: the standard 0-rings and 20mm wide needle rollers don't last long as they seal poorly, take on water and wear out, plus are quite expensive i replaced mine with phos-bronze Oilite bushes for about £5 pair simplybearings.co.uk They are self lubricating and corrosion resistant and therefore low maintenance. 1 pair: AM2026-20 Oilite Plain Bush 20x26x20mm 1 pair: AM2026-15 Oilite Plain Bush 20x26x15mm lose the 0-rings and fit both so 35mm width easily fitted with a large vice or large bolt/washers/nuts to wind them in been in my R30 a couple of years, +6k miles no probs hth |

So thats it... Just 2 lots of Oilite bushes per side in the swinger, Why no O rings, not enough room? Do you still use the Journals or do the Oilite ID match the Spindle OD? Any reason why you didn't use top hat / flange bushes for the inside pair? is there no gap to make up? Interesting... Nice, neat, cheap and low maintenance idea... From the Haines site, there are 2 lost of journal available... £18.36 ea... - 41mm for Rotax and 644 up to '04... - 38mm for 644 '04 onwards... Post how you go madasabicycle, what years are ya bike? - and does that fit in with Haynes' blurb... |

no room for 0-rings and no room for mud/crud, unlike needle rollers the 0-rings just don't seal the needle rollers you use the standard journals, otherwise the bushes would be acting on the spindle, so increased wear (i did try it on the 404 but didn't last long) the journal is effectively a moving part so wear is eliminated don't use flange ones as the journal and nylon washer take up the space all bikes used to be made like this ;) unfortuanately ccm used needle rollers without an efficient way of keeping moisture/crud out  thats why Japs use needle rollers with a grease nipple and proper oil seal, which works :) |

As promised pictures to go with Rob's write up. Thanks to Rob for the hints, and also to Lazybones for the design of the bearing removal tool - it was like shelling peas. First I left the Oilite bushes in the freezer until I had time to do the job ![]() How it looked before ![]() Old Bearing ![]() Standard Journals and O Rings ![]() Bearing Removal tool ![]() Just apply a spanner and out it comes ![]() Bearing Gone ![]() Use the same tool to put the bushes in ![]() Bushes in place ![]() Job done ![]() |

Just fitted mine, but the top hat wont go in, so will have to run a reamer through, 0.25mm too small. |

0.25mm is quite alot not doubting your engineering skills Monty, but has the journal got a burr on it, or corrosion making it tad bigger? |

They were tight being pressed in so will compress, ran a hand reamer through last night and the top hats push in nice now. Dont forget this is a CCM and everything is different from bike to bike Plus its a 02 tractor, so may be different tolerences from the suzy, Tried the tophats and bushes before being fitted and all fine, so just a small bit of compression Anyway all done now, will refit later. |

Yep, just like getting blood out of a stone :D Swinger must have grown whilst out, would not fit back between the frame, had to file a small shamfer and beat with a big stick(read hyde hammer) Still got new chain and slipper guides, all nicely polished, shame to take it puddle hunting on saturday |

Nice one lads,I'll be doing this myself and your not the only one Monty,I always find it hard work refitting the swinger and when it finally drops in I haven't a clue how it did it...bit like taking the engine in and out, though I've mastered that black art at last...so hopefully one day I might see what the swingers up to when it decides to play ball
