Hi Everybody. My name is Pete. I am 53 and live in Swansea. I have just bought a CCM R30 2002 model (644) for my son and I to practice wheelying on and I am anxious to learn what I can about it as I will be my own mechanic. It has covered 7k miles and mechanically looks very clean and good. The black plastics are very presentable but as I want it perfect would need repainting. It has come with a spare set of lime green plastics which are in better condition never having been repaired. They also need painting. I will probably go with lime green again but have an open mind. Does anyone know if the R30 decals the 3D ones can be peeled of and reused, possibly with the aid of a hair dryer . Also are the supermoto decals available with the union flag. I Also have a 1955 Triton 750 and a 1997 Speed triple Mk1. I am happy to have been able to buy another british bike. Will post some pics of my bikes when I get round to it. Regards Pete |

Hello all. H.p Resolven isn't far. Came past today on my Speed Triple. I have peeled the 3d R30 stickers off and put them safe ready to reapply after repainting. Thanks for the offer Marc but I dont think I shall need them now . am missinga one for the front fairing. Needs to be blue though. Any ideas? Thanks for the advice Alex but I had already decided to leave the scruffy plastics on while we practice clowning around. Can anyone tell me how the chain should be adjusted as I dont have a handbook. Also what are the valve clearances supposed to be? I am very surprised by how comfortable the bike is on the motorway. It is nothing like as bad as I was led to believe. Perhaps it is because I am used to old british twins. I Managed 345 miles on my old Triton one day in 2008 during a trip to France. Ridiculous position for the ignition switch and I am a little disappointed that I need to use the clutch ngoing up and down the box. Hadn't expected that from a suzuki gearbox. Regards Pete |
