I'll describe the history of this bike in my ownership, but first some pics, not in chronological order, or any order really, just ones I like:

Just a small sample of how the bikes looked over the years.

Basically, I've had the thing for nearly 5 years now and in that time have just toyed with it and played with different idea's until I've found things that have worked. It's had more exhausts (full and just end cans) than I care to mention, various brake and fork combo's, 3 rear shocks, 4 different types of front brakes inc berringer, AP and an assortment of oem stuff, its on its third swingarm, third set of yokes (06's at the mo) and all sorts of other bits.

At the moment, its along the lines of:

- Akrapovic headers with yoshi trs can, hung with a homemade hanger which has recently cracked, going to go for heavier guage next time on the ally!

- Barnett spring clutch conversion with rear damping washers and plate swapped for standard sized friction plate

- 2009 forks, brakes, discs and front wheel

- 2006 yokes, 30mm offset with some 2008 25mm offset yokes to try out over the summer

- Ohlins rear shock

- Braced swingarm

- 5PW oil/water pump (original ate itself)

- 2 teeth down on front sprocket, racetecs, and carbon lorraine xbk pads

And to fit, I've got a ported and skimmed head with kit valve springs.

So thats it really, it's a bloody beast, I've done lots of trackdays on it and I can't see me ever getting rid :)

as it came in Posted Image
it had 4 bent valves and two cracked guides Posted Image

new guides fitted , he wanted all four guides done , what complete pain they are to do . we had to make a drift to get the old ones out and a tool for fitting the new ones that did not snap the ends off the new guides when fitting .

get the head hot and froze the new guides over night in the freezer and pressed them in

here is the head all back together and ready for the guy to fit it Posted Image

he bought it non running with the above faults and is planning to sell it on at a profit

your bike looks good and that is from me who hates crotch rockets ( cause im too tall for them lol)

Nice r1, looks like shes being ridden properly too. The 4 under seat exhaust looked pretty cool.

Looks like shes had a lot of money spent on her too!

Cheers lads,

The 4 pipe thing was a bit of an experiment - it didn't sound as good as it looked, cooked your arse and put a groove into my swingarm! Sold that for £200, and managed to by the akrapovic system and yoshi with the dosh, was rather pleased with myself with that.

The pic of the cylinder head is one I picked up just as a donor for valves/retainers etc, that actual head is going in the bin, as I've got a rather tasty modified head for all the valves to go into plus some kit valve springs to make them all return again, will chuck pics of it up when I'm done :) Need a new rear tyre before I get excited with that mini project though, lol.
