Last year I was seriously thinking about selling me KTM. While I was trying to decide what to do with it a fork seal let go. This lead to other problems with the forks which meant I couldnt really sell the bike in the state it was. I was so fecked off that I pushed it to back of the shed and sort of forgot about it.

I bought myself an SV650 and spent the summer tooling about on it, I love that bike and cant see me parting with it for a while. After 3 years or so with the KTM it was nice to have a bike again that I didnt need to worry about. By now I was starting to miss me supermoto, so I bit the bullet and started to sort out all the little issues I had with KTM. So this is where im at......

Ive had the frame powder coated black and given the engine a service.

Ive given all the parts a clean before replacing them on the bike. This included rubbing the swinging arm down with wet and dry to remove the horrible polished finish and a few of the scratches, looks a lot better after an afternoons work.

Ive modified the airbox cover as the previous owners effort was to attack it with a hole saw which was bloody awful.

Ive fitted some new plastics and decals.

The forks have been stripped and rebuilt with new seals and bushes. Its had plenty of cleaning, painting and replacing of various odds and sods too.

Ive done some more work on it since taking these pics so ill get some more posted up in the near future. Ive only a few small jobs left to do so she will be back on the road soon all going well.

Thanks Monty. There isnt much room as its only a lean-to on the old mans workshop, plenty of space for what I need. Its quite cosy in there when ive got the wood burner going.

Couple of pics of the workshop from last year.

If I were two buy two bikes a KTM 525 and a pointy SV 650 would be at the top of the list ! Great looking bikes. Good 525's are hard to come by these days.
CCM 644 DS - Yellow - Owned for five years, now gone :-(
