nice work jonny. did you add a little length compared to the standard loom? the bits that pass by the head stock i mean?
the one on my first bike was really tight around the head stock area and shorted a few wires. i have to cover then in a bit of old hose pipe after i managed to pull then through the loom a little

yeah i've added some length as some of the old connectors where very close to the head stock, just dont to add too much and make a wire mess behind the head light :)

i had to stop while more cable and connectors came through.. plus i've had to clean and scrape so many frigging ends before the solder would stick its taken ages.

im sure it would have been quicker and easier if i had just taken the plunge and made a complete new loom

You should have heated the oxidised ends and dipped into a pot of flux, the flux would have cleaned the ends back to nice shinny copper, (plumbers flux in a tin)

i dont think it was just oxidization though mark, a lot of the inner wires was black rather than being a nice greeny colour.
the black stuff would only come off with scraping (inless the black is a very advanced form of oxidising?), i completely replaced a few of the wires like the indicators as they was knackerd all the way through, i wish i had done that with the earth wires as well as these seem to have been hit very hard.

still .. nearly finished it now, just a couple of wires to tidy up and the rear light connector to put on :)

Ha Ha  i would say if you have any plans on keeping the ccm .. or any bike for that matter, to change the connectors, even though just the connectors alone have been about 70 quid hursty (although they look cheaper at rex's speed shop) its cheaper than a new loom :D

water proof when connected! this is because they not only have a rubber seal between the two connections but on each wire is a little rubber boot that slides into the back of the connector to seal the rear end.

when disconnected the terminals would be open to the elements.

right ...
1. took out old alarm
2. removed all wiring and relay for side stand switch
3. extended fuse box, starter solenoid and starter relay to now go under the seat.
4. wired in remote ignition
5. replaced all damaged wires
6. replaced all connectors that i could with super seal water proof ones.
7. wired in rev counter back to the coil for Vapor digi speedo
8. wired in Vapor dash lights
9. new DECENT loom tape
10. fingers crossed it all works :-/
