Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my Aprilia Tuareg with a 604 engine, carb, CDI etc so am looking for a donor bike.

Must run well but MOT fails and barn stored are ideal.

Cheers

Hugh

Not to be pedantic, but would it not be a better bang-for-buck investment buying a 640 kit from Sportax, a second hand carb (I have one somewhere) and an Ignitech CDI rather than a complete engine?

Saying that, does anybody know if the 560 and 604 heads are the same?

Perhaps, it did cross my mind. I'm in two minds honestly as I was thinking of swoping the front forks and using the larger brake set up from the 604. I'll give him a call..

Probably be easier buying the forks etc. separately (there's a few sets on fleabay) and having some spacers made up to fit your front wheel, along with getting a 320mm disk to suit.

Only reason I say this is that generally speaking, cheap 604s don't appear often, if at all. Usually they end up broken as they're worth more in parts than as a whole. A sickening thought, but that's the way it goes.
