Evening guys, The time has come to sell last year’s labour of love, my fully rebuilt Suzuki Bandit 600. This bike was rebuilt from the ground up as many of you do on a daily basis to your own machines The plan was always to sell after I had finished it to finance the SV. However very soon after completing the project, the first day on the road in fact, I got knocked off by a inconsiderate and inept road user who cut across me during a overtake and knocked me off, 5 hours in A&E thank you very much ![]() Goodbye to the right hand side of the bike, cue having to rebuild it again. I'm mentioning all this because some of you may ask why I’m asking what I’m asking for it, truth is, I conquered that mountain, and have got a garage of two other bikes, mtb and a land rover in pieces. It deserves to be used for what it was rebuilt for - being ridden. I shall list what was done to it pre-crash, attach some photos, and also detail what was included in the post-crash repairs. I would like it to go to a good home and be ridden, which could be a commuter, a learner or someone who just needs a bike to scrat around on or a 'not so shiny' one for the weekday’s lol. If any of you guys are interested, or indeed know of anyone who might be please let me know. I am open to ovnoffers as I am advertising it cheap and just like it to be sold. I’m asking in the region of £600-£700 for it as I think this is reasonable for a bandit, plus or minus a few £££'s for bartering lol So here’s a list of what was done; (in rough chronological order) Bike was advertised with wiring fault, no start, so that was traced and rectified prior to being stripped Stripped down to component parts Wheels, Swinging arm and frame were sent away for soda blasting and powder coating Engine removed and cleaned then had new clutch inc plates and springs Top end – valve clearances and new valve stem seals Engine painted with VHT Engine satin black with engine covers painted in satin silver Exhaust downpipes repaired in stainless (known corrosion point on the bandits) Frame powder coated blue, wheels and swing arm silver Engine refitted using new stainless bolt kit Wiring loom replaced for second hand item due to the original loom found to of been causing the gremlins (headstock and CDI areas) Brakes overhauled using OEM seal kits New Sunstar chain and sprockets Ex-Ron Haslam Race school tyres Bodywork resprayed in 100% Black Gloss and new Decal kit New handle bars, switch gear, grips, levers and clutch perch (OEM) New Cobra Braided Stainless Brake lines New Brake Discs as someone had welded the bobbins on the carriers Replaced Carburettors and then rebuilt them as original set’s float needle valve seats were worn (1200 are replaceable but not the 600) – new stainless cap head screw kit and 4 off new OEM diaphragms (very very hard to get hold of anywhere other than Suzuki as only seemed to be stocked for the 1200’s) New Coils inc HT leads and NGK spark plugs New Pulse generator and coils Mini LED indicators New Choke, Clutch and Throttle cables New OEM dash top (£45 on its own from Suzuki) Forks overhauled with new oil New rear suspension linkage kit with SKF bearings from Burton Bearings (mates rates) Re-polished and treated downpipes, link pipe and end can – link pipe and can scorpion Pillion foot pegs overhauled with the correct dowel pins, ball bearings, springs and circlips (as before just M6 cap heads were used) New BMC air filter New second hand reconditioned CDI New SKF wheel bearings Panther black frame inserts Ok my memory is failing me now as its 10pm as I’m writing this ha-ha, apologies if I've forgotten anything. Following the crash the right hand side of the bike was totalled, so it had the following; New Exhaust can Handle bars, grips, throttle tube, switches, clutch perch, brake master cylinder Engine casing, pick up coil and oil pressure switch Foot pegs Indicators Bodywork was redone inc the tank which was pressure tested with water at work to ensure it hadn’t ruptured Repainted RHS brake calliper Still needs the headlight lense replacing – I've been waiting for one to come up on eBay tbh and a slight scratch on the front mud guard still to touch in. Ok enough talking, Here’s some photos, PM me for contact info or any other q’s Cheers for your time guys Matt ps not sure why the pound sign and apostrophes aren't working.....
