fork seal driver Time came to replace the fork seals on the 404 and thought I'd have a crack at making a driver as the tool was £40 - £80 on eBay.

You will need 3 items

54mm copper pipe union Pressfit style not solder.

A good hacksaw

55mm jubilee clip

Cut one Pressfit end off nice and straight and file, this will be used to press the washer and seal in.

Cut down one side of fitting there is a nice cast line to follow.

Cut down the opposite side (again nice cast line) Don't cut all the way through, halfway is enough act like a hinge, cut some clearance at the top pressfit groove either side of your cut so it will open wide enough to slide over your fork tube.

To finish nicely use little sticky felt pads or draft seal on the inside of the fitting to keep it centered on the tube so you don't hit outer tube.

When your ready to press in washer and seals simply slide into position and secure with the jubilee clip.
