Just booked MOT for sat. Morning. Test ran out last October but need to put it back on the road early
As Thomas's moggy thou has broken its suspension mountings so he has now taken to using my moggy.
Hope the tester likes the Scorpion or I am in trouble. :shy:

Sbouldn't worry about the exhaust as noise is not part of the test, just the testers opinion as long as its attatched properly & has no leaks all should fine, its the same with small number plates as long as the layout of the plate is correct (ie not long like a car) then they have no reason to fail it, MOT testers are NOT required to enforce 'construction & use' just follow the regs in the MOT testers book, so good luck with MOT & looking at your bike & the way you look after it I would pass it from 250miles away.....

Thanks for that remark, makes it all worth while. I mentioned before its a pet hate of mine when bikes are run into the ground allthough i can see that some bikes(not necessarily a CCM) serve a purpose to some riders and appearance is secondary. :dirtbike:

Number plate isn't part of the mot .... It's a dvla requirements not vosa 👍
Relative is an mot'er for bikes ...
Exhaust might get an advisory 'loud' but that will be about it

If it's like my scorpion can stamped up for road use wrap insulting tape around it a tester can't remove anything from your bike! N if they ask u have loose rivets that vibrate lol I don't have any issue with mine!!

if the pipe is loud:
get a piece of chicken wire approx 12x12"
roll it up quite tight, but leave the last few inches slack
then squeeze it a bit so it fits in the tail pipe
it should spring out and push against the inside of the can

it'll quieten it enough (or use more chicken wire)
then just use a hook to pull it out until next year

hth

yes hursty
thats what i've done for MOTs and the odd enduro scrutineer

the wire bounces the sound round the can a bit, rather than it coming straight out

a large washer about 50mm, with 25-30mm hole does same. weld it in the tail

I had an mot last year and was told the number plate MUST be the correct size. so what i done was get one from a sunday market where they make them up, they dont ask for mot or v5 etc. i just used double sided tape and stuck it over the small one and it passed. then just take it off. The mot guy also took off the stick on reflector off the plate and stuck it next to the light, they are illeagal if they are on the plate.

You can mot a bike with no plate as long as a reflector is on the back some where
Get your mot'er to show where it's says he has to check the plate in vosa guidelines 😊.

Past, no issues or advisories. Exhaust never mentioned in fact all he wanted to do was sit on it and ask if it wheelies.
