Merry Christmas to all. Small question on my Suzy 644 DS. Want to fit 48 tooth rear sprocket. Running 14 tooth engine sprocket and my chain which is 116 links (525 pitch) won't fit around my 48 tooth rear. Obviously tried this with chain adjusters turned to allow greatest slack. Anybody running same setup and knows how many links in their chain? Was wondering if I need to get a 118 or 120 link chain? Cheers. |

Hi Rob. Yeah tried that but was no way it was going to fit. I guessed it would need to be about 3 or 4 links longer. |

on a DS it "should" be 118 links anyway, if you put the gap in your chain round the rear sprocket, it should be pretty easy to see how many links are needed to be 100% sure |

Yeah that would have been a good idea but current chain is riveted with no split link so I'm having to guess. Looks like it may need to be 120 links. Just wondered if anyone has same gearing and knows what chain length fits. |

If you get a 120 links you will have plenty I've had 13-49 on my DS fits well now running 14-46 soon be going back to 15-43 as got to go further to work next year on the sunny days I take the bike roll on the sunny days 😃 |

OK Hursty thanks for that. Yeah roll on sunny WARM days! Out of interest do you use a split link or rivet your chains? |

why change both, just put the front 16T .. it'll be the same as 15-43 but help keep the chain off the glide. as too link number , standard DS was 15 -48 off road wheels and 15-43 SM wheels using 118 links, so 14 -48 should be 118 links |

OK thanks Jonny. I wanted 14 front / 48 rear for green laning - slow things down when it gets tricky and rocky. |
