Just wondering does anybody know if the ccm frame would house any other engine apart from the DS wind engine?Had anybody went down that road?

DR650, obviously, XR600? Dr750 or 800? KX500? Kh500 or 750 Widowmaker? KTM/Husaberg/Husqvarna 600+cc single?

anything could fit, I'm sure the frame will have to be modified a lot though, so long as you get it central for the balance and the sprockets in alinement
If it aint sharp I can play with it

I tried to bung an Rotax/Aprilla 5 valve water cooled motor from a Pegaso.......failed, frame was a bit to small, needed to much modification so I gave up.

KX is better. But then I'm a Kawasaki man.
Wonder what a parallel twin KX1000 would go like in a SuMo frame... Oh for the knowledge and machinery to do it!

A few years back i built one useing the Yamaha XTZ 660 5 valve engine in the Rotax frame, overbored to 686, flowed head, race cam, slipper clutch etc, engine went in ok with only a need to make front engine plates and use the rear engine mount as the swingarm pivot and weld a head steady to the frame.

The problem i had was trying to put it on the road, DVLA would'nt issue a log book because of the engine swap, SVA test was a pain, and too top if off i could'nt find insurance, it was'nt on thier system so offered no cover, one or two companies would insure it but at silly rates and without a rider policy, so i took it apart and its still in the garage under a cover awaiting a renewed determination on my part.

PS. if i was any good on these things id post pictures :what: .

Should be able to just change engine numbers on log book and go to someone like Adrian flux... I put an 1100 engine in my 750, no problem with changing log book or insurance

If you have the skills and equipment the list of engines you cant fit would be short.
The real problem has been stated already. Insurance companies will have your pants down big time.

A paralell twin would be best i reckon, the er6 twin does well in supertwin racing, beating the sv these days so i think 80-90 horsepower is doable from them.

That would be a tasty amount for a ccm, still hate the look of rads and stuff, id suspect it would look less than sleek unless you were really good!

OHHHH YES!!!ALL THAT STROKER!

Bit long though innit? Woulda thought one of the parallel twin or triple snowmobile or jet ski motors with a separate gearbox would be easier to squeeze in.
