so ive just finished all the paint and propper clean up of a 644 i have not long got. ive been up the road on it a couple of times now and it was really good to ride. i have just got on it to go for a rip around the lanes and when i let the clutch out the bike just sits there!!!!!! after treating it to some choice words that im sure the neighbours had to close their ears to i have tried adjusting the clutch at the engine end of the cable but still nothing!!!!!!! when i took it out the other day i noticed that the lever was nearly all the way out before it bit so i had already adjusted it quite a bit. so any thoughts would be really helpful here. im pretty sure its a case of a new clutch as the gears seem fine. how much is a new clutch or a second hand clutch for one of these.... and if im really fooked how much is a gearbox??!!!!!!! grumpy face! |

did you at any point take the clutch arm off, if so are you 100% sure you put it back on in the correct place? |

I'm now having a nightmare with setting the bloody clutch cable. It's clunking in to first and then going nowhere in fifth haha. Good job I can test it on a stand and not have to keep running it up the road!! Plus it was dark so I gave up and I'll sort it on the weekend. I'm guessing it's best to start from all the way in on the handlebar adjuster and half way at the engine end? Of all the bikes I've played with, built and fixed this one with its one cylinder and simple loom is giving me jip hahaha |
