What would you recommend? I have a lovely new rubber ring Distanzia waiting in the shed and have decided to stop being so lazy (& save a tenner) and fit it myself, something I haven't done for years as I have always had big bikes with tubeless tyres and it was easier to get someone else to do the swearing!
3 x 18" levers off Fleabay?

I used to do it for all my bikes but somehow just got out of the routine.

And my next question is, do I use WD40 or KY jelly :chin:

Damn, should have posted this in chat, can I move it?

Moved for you buddy! Tyre levers the bigger the better also get some rim protectors and I find washing up liquid good enough a rubber hammer for breaking bead does help too I am always changing the trials bike tyres myself 😀

for DIY you will nip your rims, unless you use protectors. Garden hose slit down its length is good

levers, i use 2 of these. its all in the bend/crank at the ends that help ease the tyre on/off. I dont like the straight ones.

and 2 of these as they have a narrower tip for getting under the bead

to break the bead use a garden spade or you can get a cheap tyre changer rig £40 (but they do bend on mousses)

i made my own tyre rig from an old 15" car wheel :)

watch some youtube vids or get a friend to show you

2 buzzetti levers for me ..10 inch ones and wd40 as fairy liquid contains salt...a mx valve puller for tubed tyres and a roll of gaffer tape to add over the rim tape saves them nipples piercing the tube..ohh ahh....

A big G clamp works as a bead breaker and a rubber mallet to help persuade the bugger ..

Thank's guys, think that I'll order 3 of those 15" bars as I already have a basic 300mm bar that I can use as an assist.

Used to own an IT250 & a XT550 and thought nothing about changing tyres, unfortunately that was over 30 years ago...ouch :therethere:

Ive always used good old hand soap, not the wife's best Pears stuff though they get funny about things like that

Get it into a lather, ohh err  and away you go, doesn't attack the rubber either
