My 644DS has quite a dirty/oily foam filter (its the one from the haines site that says "Twinair" on it) am i right in thinking i can wash it out with warm soapy water, then rinse with cold and let drip dry? i've only had K&N before, never this type. Also, on the haines site there are two types of oil filters. take it there is no reported problems with the cheaper one? do peeps change the filter every 2nd oil change? |

Hey Phil, Yes, wash it out as you mentioned then leave to drip dry then soak in it air filter oil (motocross guys usually have some) [the easy way is pour some filter oil into a plastic bag, put the filter in and get the filter saturated, let the excess drip off then fit the bugger, will be sticky so latex gloves are a must] Personally i change the oil filter every time. Warp9 racing sell a stainless re-useable filter, it's on the procycle usa website under dr650 |
