Can anyone help ? I've noticed the post about timing belt problems on the rotax. My bike has only 3.600 miles on it which is genuine .but it sat around for the last 4 years that i've owed it .with me starting it once a month. is the belt going to need changing as i know that some belts have a certain life span.

If I was you I would, its not very difficult & once done you know its done. I think Sportax had some if you check you could get a good one wack ot on & bingo you have started fresh.

Hi Kev,

Dayco recommends changing the belts every 20,000km or 2 years which ever occurs first. For those that race, id recommend every 12 months.

Hope that helps..
