Hi there Newbie to the forum. Like to thank all for the wealth of info on here that has already proved invaluable before I even got the bike. Just purchased a 53 plate DS 644 with the standard can on. I'd like to get hold of a can with a nice sound to it - doesn't have to be too mental - just do the bike justice, so wondered if any folk may want to share their opinions? Also would be good to know what re-jetting and/or carb settings (dyno run?), if any, would need to be done. Cheers Pedro |

General rule of thumb is Race can/after market one with baffle 150 mains 27.5 pilots air screws 2.5 turns out needle on second notch from bottom/pointy end air box lid removed. check TPS is correct at 76% remove valve lift gubbins, (if no solenoid under right carb, already been done) |

From my experience, it doesn't really matter what can you chuck on a big single, providing they're fairly open, they all sound well. It's more a case of finding summat that fits without hassle, depending on your mechanic skills. Although anything can be made to fit with 'some modification' !!! |

I drink too much, I swear too much, I ride too fast and I crash too often. It is a universal impossibility for me to leave my tools alone and my bikes standard. 'It must go faster!!' | |

Many thanks for all this info. I was thinking of the least hassle approach, if that's possible. I'm not fussed about any power gains - was more about just the lovely big single 'thump' sound. Is there a minimum spannering option, but obviously safe for carburation etc in the long term? Did CCM make a Remus race can that could just be swopped over or did it involve jetting etc? Sorry for all the stupid newbie questions... Lastly I'm not sure what Monty means by: 1. check TPS is correct at 76% 2. remove valve lift gubbins, (if no solenoid under right carb, already been done) |

the Quill can's are made for our bikes, sod the Remus, the race can is just loud and heavy the Quill T3 is friendly till around 4000rpm then it opens up, the EVO2 just growls all the time |

The Quill T3 would be my can of choice, quiet down low, louder up high still without being too loud. Pretty much every after market can youre gonna need to rejet the carb to get it running perfect although they will run with the standard jetting but I dont recommend it. TPS Adjustment - Misfire and Under Powered TPS Adjustment - Follow Up Throttle Piston Valve Lift Control - Removal |

Great. Many thanks all for taking the time to answer. I'll look into the Quills (might need to be an Xmas pressie) and get my head around the spannering. |
