well before I went to Stafford for the show last week end I had the chance of buying a 1976 Kawasaki z1000 as I like my old kawasaki I jumped at it.
it was on the road until 10 years ago and left sitting in a shed.
I know the history of the engine its a gpz1100 b1 bored out to 1170 ,ported head and fast road cams.
Frame has a deep braced JMC mono shock swinging arm .up front has a GSXR front end with ZZR wheels.
I intend to take it down to the frame and rebuild it as its in a sorry state at the moment but on the plus side I had it running so I know the engine is good.

Careful with a TRX, make sure the needle (emulsifer) jet is OK, they shag out in about 20,000 miles, dont know why but they seem to just wear out! & the suspension on TRX is crappy. Front forks are weak stronger springs & dropped through the yokes about 30mm on mine still not great, also use fuel more than the speed you get out of it, so it went & I got a FZ750, 50 bhp more, better handling & a lot more reliable, but I love the big Z's

also if it looks like this (white frame) then it's a Jap import, & it's speed limited in the speedo.....But as this one in the piccy is mine, it's had loads done to it...But check out the carbon cans, look at the name on them, something lost in translation, but still funny

There you go stevo, mine was a 16" wheeler as well, ace bike if a little wobbly at speed, (maybe the can am handle bars I grafted on?) but worked everyday all day

& steveo as good as your JMC swing are looks wait until you wanna take out the rear spindle, fun fun fun & you can adjust the ride height by changing which way round you adjust the chain on the cam system, but I like it, it has great potential to go drag racing, check out ultimate street bike reunion at north weald july next year, you will love it.

Thanks for the info on the trx Stephen.
All ways fancied one. Used to like the over race bike's.
Probably won't stay standard very long and with monty being a whiz on the lath anything can be made to fit.
