Arternoon all just finishing putting the bike back together and what i thought would be one of the simplest jobs is turning into a bloody nightmare ! i have bought a new Quill T3 exhaust and now have come to fit it and the fit on the CCM link pipe is very sloppy and no amount of clamp tightening will get a nice snug fit !! all exhausts i have fitted to bikes in the past have always been a tight fit with only a nip up on the clamp to secure. If anyone can shed some light on this i would be exrtemly gratefull. Bike is a 2003 644DS. Should the quill T3 have been supplied with a new link pipe ? Cheer Blue. |

It should fit fine, mine does, and its a 03 bike, you could shim it, or apply some silicon all around the inside, fit and leave till it goes off, that will seal it. |

My quill T3 was a perfect fit onto the standard link pipe, my guess is that T3 is for a different bike? If its new I'd send it back for a replacement. If you're not too fussed and its only a small gap to fill cutting some strips of metal from a beer can to fit between the link pipe and silencer clamping part like a gasket works a treat. |

Cheers for the advice lads, used the beer can method with a little exhaust jointing pase worked a treat just to add a little tip when cutting the can into a strip for the gasket leave four little tabs so you can bend them over the end of the link pipe this stops the gasket sliding along the pipe when pushing on the silencer. Thanks again for the help.

if it's a new can, measure your link pipe to make sure it's correct, then do the same to the can, see which is at fault. but the guys at Quill are a lovely bunch and im sure if you ring them they will help out |
