Hi All,

Just a quick post to say hello. I've had my R30 for just about three weeks now. So really not sure how solid it is as yet. Started to look at a few bits on it. Looks like the alarm (although working) was wired in by Stevie Wonder. The polished swing arm looks good, but on removing the hugger is quite tainted under there, so will require some working on! Indicators are pretty much f@#k@d, so a new set is ready in the garage to fit! But firstly desperately need a new rear lighting unit as not much left of the original, looks like the indicators have been moved around on it a fair bit. Any one have any suggestions for a decent rear light and tail unit. Have seen these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-LED-Stop-Rear-Tail-Light-for-Enduro-Trials-Trailbikes-DRZ-XR400-/351057026244?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item51bca11cc4
Anyone tried them as yet or any comments welcome.
Also have already binned the after market 1970's mirrors that were on it, swear they had come of a F1SE!!! and fitted a bar end mirror. And must get round to tightening the chain up as it will soon be dragging on the floor, don't think it has been done for a while shall we say! Loads to do on her as yet, so may be asking for a bit if advice once in a while. Once I have checked through existing posts for info.

Cheers

Hong

Hello. Yep I've got the same one and it does a good job. The only mod i made was making a bracket to lower the angle of the plate a bit. As standard it's about 10 degrees from horizontal and with a small plate it's got pull me written all over it :)

hello :drinks: .. also in oxfordshire, do you go to the H cafe monday nights?

that light is ok, but if you're doing the indicators as well i used to use this : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LED-rear-light-oval-black-stop-tail-integral-indicators-and-bracket-/181387711371?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a3b8cd38b

is your R30 the suzuki engine or Rotax?

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome and the advise on the tail light, much appreciated. I think I shall get one ordered up ASAP. Interesting what Paul1773 said about making a bracket to knock the angle down a bit, as that was my concern, getting pulled regularly. Will have a look into that once said light arrives!

Jonny h - Yes I do get up to H's café on a Monday night, prob once or twice a month. Where abouts in Oxfordshire are you? I'm just up the road from the café the other side of Wallingford! And mine is the Suzuki engine.

Will bang a pic up of the bike shortly!
I started off with nothing and still have most off it left!

I'm not to far away either (from Didcot) I'm near Wantage... I remember a few nights out in 'Brawlers' Broadway pub! Is it still there? I hear Didcot has gone all posh now!

haha yes broadways is still here .. and still the same .. if you want mutton thats your pub, they certainly put money into the town center and left abingdon and wantage standing still in a sea of charity shops.

i'm not a didcot boy though .. cowley through and through
