Side stand help?

Hi every1, after some more advice... My bike collapsed on Saturday after leaving it on its side stand. It's always seemed to lean over too far in my opinion and must have finally given way on Saturday. So I ordered a new spring from Haines and it makes no difference at all and wont support any weight what so ever.
Could anyone with a 604 post a pic up of how the stand and spring is supposed to go. ( I know should be common sense- but I'm baffled)!!!
Would really appreciate the help.
Cheers Gaz

spring fixes to a s shaped piece of wire half way down the stand, and top to a bracket bolted on the rear of the ally housing the stand fits in.
If it aint sharp I can play with it
