Hello everyone

So finally I have decided to buy a ccm I have been looking at them for some time my friend has 3 of the things....I'm coming away for sports bike currently on a Gsxr k2 600cc but had enough of that crowd to many posers and not enough riding!!

So I'm looking for a supermoto and thinking it will have to be 604 or 644 as I'm a bit of a lump (16stone) and don't thing the 400s will have the pulling power as I had a wr250f just no good for me and had a Ktm 300 2stroke but that was nothing but hassle.

Any way that's my 1st post

And any input on what ccms would be better for me would be greatly appreciated I ride every day as well.

Cheers I was looking at the huskys but I like the fact of the ccm being British and also my mate know a lot about them. Engine wise ect, so that's always useful.

What are the body mods like for the ccms eg plastics can you get a lot of aftermarket bits like the drz's?

Cheers jay

Hello Fella,

I've got a 404 which is the drz 400 engine. I'm currently just under 17 stone and 6'3" with a totally standard bike with supermoto's on at the mo.
I don't think it's that slow either to be honest, my mate has just bought a brand new kwak 636 and he only pulls away from me at walking speed, not much in it. Admittedly accelerating from 60mph plus, it's hardly fast but I very rarely go that fast anyway, it's all about the twisties! There's bags of torque in there and I've never been at a loss of power when green laning.

Reliability engine wise, it's fantastic. They need a new sleeve behind the sprocket as soon as you buy one cos suzuki put a mild steel on in??? and service intervals are supposed to be every 2,000 miles odd, I do mine whenever the oil starts to go brown and it costs about £4 for an oil filter, oil is whatever is on offer for a tenner, and the air filter needs cleaning with a bit of petrol and then re-spunking/gelling.
Only thing I've had to pay for in the way of repairs was a new pair of fork seals, new bearings occasionally here n there and a cam chain at around 6,000 miles. It's now on around 12,000.
The typical CCM wiring issues are present here too tho. I let my battery go flat one winter and tried to start it, which made my acumen speedo whiz round to 89,000 miles  then a few months later they decided to reset themselves to zero :chin: , so I'm now on about 3,500 lol.

Hope this doesn't put you off lol
There's always something up with my bike

service intervals are very good. once a year does the job, obviously if you commute or do many K's a year twice a year.

These bikes are not like the ktbooms after ever ride out
If it aint sharp I can play with it

Keep away from them 610 husky mine disapointed me only thing I loved about it was the race cans it had on it twin carbon cans witch sounded the tits part from that the bike was a total disapoiment unless you want a full on licence eater hold on for dear life Supermoto buy the SXV 550 but if not the Ccm is the better bike I don't really keep bikes long cas they bore me but I've had mine 3 yrs now it's still putting that stupid grin on my face!
