Hi every1, so I posted in January regarding my gear lever not returning to normal position after changing gear and today got the news from garage that it's an engine out job as the faulty spring is within the crank case :(. About 15hours labour I've been told, so probably £600ish. I'm hoping once this is done I have some hours of trouble free running!

Dont pay anyone £600 to do that. Your not far from me so if you really cant do it your self then get the parts and bring it here.
I will do it for a couple of pints.

Hi mate, thanks for the reply, really appreciate the offer and very kind. I had been looking at replies but for some reason I couldn't add a reply until now! I had already committed to the repairs as I never imagined I'd get an offer like yours...
So so far, the engine and box is out the bike, it needs two main bearings, gasket set as I've seen the mess they were in! sourced a mint (but used) gear selector shaft and kick start shaft, so far I'm on 8 and a half hours labour which I've paid! He reckons another 10 or so to put back together and engine back in.
Looks like I'll be scrounging all the overtime I can get at work.
Luckily I don't have much in the bike so that's the only reason why agreed to the repairs.
Oh and front forks are leaking but I can do that cheap myself.
I'll keep u informed!

Still in garage mate, hoping to get back sometime next week. They've had 9hours on it so far which I've paid! They've kept in touch and asked if mine could take a back seat for a couple of weeks as with the warmer weather coming they've become increasingly busy. Not to bothered as I've still got my Fireblade to enjoy.
Anticipation is killing me though!
