I think the previous owner of my 404 had had a little spill and caused damage to the rear mudguard meaning it flapped around like a flappy dog tail and hung down as well. As well as that the rear light old bulb style one was very temperamental. My friend offered me an led rear light that came attached to a yamaha wr mudguard.
This is how the original looked

A bit worn and broken
With a lot of swearing and a little cutting, swearing and shaping, swearing drilling, swearing hammering and more swearing the standard holes lined up perfectly with the frame the colour wasnt a bad match either

I think the lines of the mudguard work quite well and it sits a lot higher than the last

Next on the list is a thorough service to see what else is bodged and fork seals again
Also the front end seems a little off it doesnt feel particularly grippy any help with what could be causing this would be much appreciated

i think the old sagged cos the rack was removed
rack acts as a subframe and supports the mudguard

item 42 http://www.sparesccm.com/images/404Frame.jpg

new one looks good, but worth supporting underneath at least

No it was a friend of a friend who switched to ktm. His mechanical knowledge was limited to hammering I think
