Hi Russ....just found this topic searching the net.

I thought the same thing about the oil cooler, very exposed unlike the DR650 one.

Well rear dust/stone guards are crap as they fill up with crap lol..tried one i made and binned the idea , oknfor road bling boys..

Oil cooler guard = i have a dr650se one and. The mounts need altering as it hits the tank and top mount dosent line up..

Never bent mine as normally in a fall the bar end hits first..yes you could hit it on a. Boulder but not likely...froggy phil hit his on a tree stump last winter and bent the guard but the oil coller survived but he wasnt watching where he was riding as usual..we all missed the tree..opps!

While we're talking about bits that you cant seem to get for the 644DS.....why does no one make a proper sump guard, one that wraps around the engine???

guess i'll have to get one from another bike and mod it....any clues where to start? (whats a close fit?)

I imagine the DR650 will be a good one to start with as the engine is almost the same, youd probably just need to drill some holes to get it to line up with the bolt holes in the frame.
