Get the walls painted up with some cheap matt white emulsion , this will help brighten up a dark space if you've only got one light. The matt paint absorbs the light making it brighter, where as with silk and gloss finnish the light bounces off the walls and is lost. The workshops at my works get painted every year or so with matt paint and I the question why matt paint ? - answer see above |

if you cant fit a ground anchor , fill a dust bin with concrete and a chain hanging out of it and that way they will have a concrete ball to carry when they try to steal your bike lol |

Might just do that with paint got a big tub of that crap emulsion that takes about 8 coats to get a covering, may still have a tin of garage floor paint if it not crustified with age :). Most concerned with it being a single ply tin roof the possibility of condensation although there's plenty of airation. Anyone know of any deals on padlocks? |

is it an up and over garage door lee? i fitted one of these to the bottom corner on each side of the door ![]() that way they would have to get through them before they got the door up . had two mountain bikes stolen as the thieves wrenched the bottom of the door up even though there was pins at the middle of the door to stop the door opening . nearly 4 grands of bikes taken mind you i had a concrete drive way to my lock up so the hasp part on the door with a half inch plate at the rear so the bolts did not pull out if crow bar'd . the bit the lock goes through into the concrete . and two abus disc locks ![]() i then made an anchor from a machine lifting eye and inch thick plate and bolted to the wall with counter sunk raw bolts with hex heads with a ball bearing hammered into the hex head . the anchor is still in my old lock up as i could not get it off lol bike was locked with a chain and this u lock ![]() 16mm shackle . when i took the bike out i used a chain then one of these ok it was heavy but thats why the DS has a rear rack ;)

Some good pointers there, was thinking of useing a bit of box section cut diagonal putting holes on longest plane, drilling some holes in concrete with bit opening plugs, but bet I end up getting lazy with chaining & shackles up. It is Wood double door, needs a lick of paint for starters, and wasnt planning on going ott security conscious but getting paranoid now thought a brass padlock will do so know previous owner hasn't got access through key copies |

we use the abus disc locks all over the hospital sites good quality. you can buy them in 2s keyed alike- same key for both locks. also use CISA locks on the workshop roller shutters, can't get in with croppers or cut with saw. |

the more locks and obstacles in the way the longer it take for them to steal it. how far from a house is the lock up? you could wire a simple alarm to the door . a key switch a bike horn plunger switch and a 12v car battery and you have a simple alarm just remember to switch it off when YOU open the door |
