Hi,

I have seen some chat before about servicing the brembo brakes on the 604. i need to give my brakes a good service and wondered if anyone could provide guidance or a link to service/repair kit.

I see fromother posts that brembo dont do spares, is that right? are there after market kits?

Thanks

Craig

As far as I know Brembo only supply trade customers due to liability risks (Bless the US) :poke:

However if you take the original parts to Brammer bearings they will find the O rings you want at a fraction of the cost

They carry or will get all the standard metric size bearings/seals, etc that exist

Brammer are a major bearing supplier and Ive used them loads in the past they can be very helpful. Oh and a dam site cheaper than going to a dealer for bike and car bearings, most bearings have a number on them if you give them that they can normally get it for you or give them the size ;)
If your not on the edge, your taking up too much room

not sure if its the case now but years back bearing suppliers were not allowed to knowingly sell you a bearing to be used in a vehicle . something to do with insurance and the monopoly by the dealers of the vehicle parts. if you do go in tell them its for a project .

as i say it may not now be the case but was a few years back . we got a leaflet at work from a bearing supplier that we used regarding it .

also you may find some bearings will only be available from the dealer .for example the mains bearing in the DTR125 are say 70mmx40mmx17mm but you wont get that from a bearing supplier as they only stock 70mmx40mmx16mm and only place to get it is yamaha . i know as i tried the bearing suppliers and even asked FAG - INA through a contact and they could not get them either

(sizes quoted are hypothetical but the ones in the engine were 1mm different )

Oh my god, is there no limit to how much my bike had been butchered before i got it!!!

Took the front brake lever apart tonight and instead of a bespoke pivot bolt for the lever to rotate around someone has shoved a bloody great bolt through, it wasnt even metric!!!!!!

I cant find the specific part online, does anyone know where i can buy the pivot bolt (i know thats notthe right word but red wine is affecting my mind!!)

thanks

dude you can find everything you want on that site. .. or if you have a KTM shop near you then go there as our bikes brakes are the same as the 300 EXC.

or have a read here ;) http://forum.ccmmad.co.uk/topic/7026411/1/#new
