I've started a blog so friends can follow my progress (or lack thereof ;) ) on this project, here's a link: http://ccm350resurrection.wordpress.com/

Also helpful if you suffer from insomnia - my drivel will definitely induce sleep! :D

just thought you would like to know that the C20 came with a white frame and those red forks, does your tank still have CCM on it? is the writing pink?
the C20 came in a 560 or 604 enigne.

the C25 has a purple frame and had the 350 or 604 engine, only 12 350's made it to the usa.

Nothing on the tank, but the frame number is C25033. Frame is white and was definitely not repainted unless they stripped it to bare metal first (unlikely).

The C25 350 in this test: http://davestestsandarticles.weebly.com/uploads/4/8/4/5/4845046/dbikeaug96_400enduroshootout.pdf has a white frame and red forks like mine.

Only 12 C25 350s imported to the US? I knew there couldn't be many. I once had a pair of Cagiva 350 Ala Rossas - 2 of the 12 imported. Yeah, I like "weird" stuff. :D

ahh your frame number says it all, they said after the c26 they made the model in the frame numbers less obvious. i see how clear yours is now!! ... i wander if they put the 350's into the c20 frames/setup then .. and the 604's went to the purple frame and beefed up suspension... either that or its just CCM using stock as per usual and you get what your given lol

What part(s) of the suspension did they beef up - just the forks? Mine are Magnum 50s with blue plastic adjuster knobs on top, pretty serious looking suspenders.

The same magazine tested a 604 a month later and it too had a white frame. Probably like you say - using up stock on hand. Moto Guzzi is famous for the same thing.

yeah the forks standard were 45mm on the C25, then beefed up to 50mm Marzocchi's on the C26

Odd that mine is a C25 with 50s then. :chin: The US importer must have gotten bikes with a weird mix of parts...

I've been thinking about a color change for the frame, maybe a "vivid" blue, almost purple. The white frame just reminds me too much of a period Husqvarna.

ahh those old 500 2 stroke huskys did look smart though.

it would interesting to know what colour and spec your bike did go over the water in though.
you could emailing CCM to see if they could ask one of the clews, i mean .. a C25 still around in the states is pretty dam cool!

From the records that came with my bike, the only changes made to it were the carburetor (34mm Dellorto) and exhaust (Up-Tite Racing), a higher compression piston and dual valves springs (both from Ron Woods Racing). The front rim has been replaced with an Excel. I believe the rest is as it was when purchased new.

Right after I bought the bike, I called CCM and was told the person (Russell Clews) I needed to speak with was in a meeting and that I should email him instead. So I did - twice. Included info@ccm on both as well. No response. I haven't tried again.

Well, you know what happens when you assume...

From reading this here on CCM Mad by Watts:

Magnum FAQ

How to identify model years?

93-94 Magnum 45: Has alloy damping adjusters
95-97 Magnum 50: Has blue plastic adjusters
98- Magnum 45 & 50: Has slot-headed adjusters

I assumed mine were 50s since they have blue plastic adjusters. Wrong... measured them just now and they're actually 45s with blue plastic adjusters. So, my C25 is white-framed with 45s. Still curious about what year that makes it then, probably '96 since that seems to be when CCM USA was most active?
