bit of a cross topic this ,as i have one running in the electrical section at the mo ... but whilst sorting out my regulator i went to a friends house , when i left and got home he rung me to say that my bike backfires far too much on overrun and i need to upjet it before i start burning out valves ....so i set about taking out the main jet ,only to find it has a 190 !!!!!it has a race can and holes in the airbox does this sound right ? |

sound correct, popping on overrun as you say, or shutting throttle from speed will cause this. you could increase the pilot to make it not as bad, tho personally I love it, spec when going down high street, stops the old grannies walking out in front of you |

If its a standard 604 head and bore on a straight through can a 185 seems to be the standard jet. Mine runs great at this and have heard of others using a 182. A 190 might just be wasting fuel. The pops and bangs are quite often caused by air leak somewhere in the exhaust system or carb issues |

Mine did it a lot till I jiggled the headers about in the stubs and it stopped, sometimes miss it :D You'll have to seal 'em if they're a loose fitting...or just enjoy like Monty says :D |

The suzy motor does it, Must admit the rotax doesn't, so leak at the headers may be it as Cuz says. probably the silicon I used when fitting headers............... enjoy the racket :D |
